Dog's Day Out
Last week I went to the park with fellow photographer, Eneida, and her puppy, Polly. This was Polly's first trip to the park. While she is always around another dog at home, we weren't sure exactly how she would react to dogs she didn't know. When we arrived, cameras in hand, we first brought her to the smaller area so she could get to know the other dogs through the fence. It was empty so she could feel safe.
She was elated! She ran around like crazy!!! We would get down on her level and call her to us. She ran full speed right at us which is a bit scary when you're looking through your camera lens!
After about 20 minutes in her own space, Polly became curious about the dogs in the larger play area. We took her up and she was very hesitant! At first she was totally overwhelmed by the friends who greeted her. Eneida had treats in her pocket which helped her make friends really fast!
After a few barks and growls, Polly began to check the other dogs out. She did great! She shared a ball and even horsed around. She kept checking in with Eneida to make sure she was close by. That was really cute. Overall it was a total success! Eneida and I got some great photos and Polly made some friends!
